IMPROVED after market control arm link kit replaces bent and broken original equipment on every model 1996-99 Eclipse/Spyder convertible tops, for the same discounted price as our original kit. Avoid costly top replacement caused when original arms bend or break and tear second bow away from fabric. Our kit can also help stop leaks where the top closes at the windshield. Kit includes both right and left control arms with cables, all necessary parts and fasteners, as well as comprehensive instructions for removal of old or damaged parts, and replacement with our after market kit. This is a relatively simple operation with no special tools needed and no need for disassembly or removal of the top. This can be a "do it yourself " job in about an hours time! This kit will eliminate the possibility of bent control arms and damage in the future. Since 2002, each set of our control arms have been made by hand, from a higher grade material, rendering them considerably stronger than equipment that is soft enough to be press-punched and bent into shape. Ours are a welded two piece, assembly, since the material used is difficult to bend accurately and welding is stronger. We also have the lowest discounted price for the improved and patented original kit we designed over twenty one years ago, that is only available here. Don't forget the spacers! Since spacers are normally reused, they are not part of this kit. See below for more information. Replacement links are no longer available from Mitsubishi dealerships. Our aftermarket kit solves the lift problem found in nearly all convertible top control link failures when the OEM elastic strap fails to pull the second top bow clear of the side rails. The stainless steel cables shown in the picture are for this purpose. NOTE: Please check your screws and spacers where the control arms fasten to the top bow (See pic. #4). We can save shipping by including them with your kit, if necessary. We are manufacturing the spacers in limited amounts that sell for $10.00 a set. Shipping charges occur if sent separately. Because we are selling limited amounts of spacers for less than the cost of manufacturing them, PLEASE make sure you need them before ordering. We do not recommend installing the control arms without the spacers, as serious damage can occur to the control arms or the top bow. Usually the top bow, and it is another discontinued Mitsubishi part. Spacers have also been discontinued by Mitsubishi. If you need spacers, we can add the $10.00 to the total order and we will send them with the control arms. Just let us know.
