This coin was minted by the Department of the Treasury, United States Mint in commemoration of the 225th anniversary of the establishment of the nation's first federal law enforcement agency, the United States Marshals Service. Coin Designs The obverse (heads side) design of the 2015 U.S. Marshals Service 50C depicts an Old West U.S. Marshal and a horse in the upper left and a modern female U.S. Marshal wearing tactical gear in the lower right. Inscriptions are: "LIBERTY", "IN GOD WE TRUST", "1789-2014" and "2015". The reverse (tails) design features Lady Justice holding the scale of justice in her left hand and the U.S. Marshals Service star in her right. Inscriptions are "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "HALF DOLLAR" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM".
